INWARD LOOK – Fellowship, in which we fix our attention on each other as brothers & sisters in Christ. Our Inward Look involves loving concern and care for one another, the cultivation of friendships, mutual prayer support, edification, exhortation and discipline, equipping each other for service.
Help support our ministries with your generous giving via our online giving page.
We offer a variety of ministry programs at Emmanuel to meet the needs within our community. Each ministry is viewed as an opportunity to display the love of Christ and encourage others with an eternal hope.
The Middle School & High School youth group gathers weekly on Wednesday evenings at ECC from 6:45 – 8:15 pm.
There is also deeper study of God’s Word for teens during the 8:45 am Sunday T.M.E.S. hour.
We offer a calendar of events and a safe environment that is designed to build community. Summer activities include weekly “Beach & Bible” outings. In September we hold a “See You at the Pole Rally.” During the winter, a Gym & swim activity reminds us warmer days are coming
We utilize seasonal trips to challenge and encourage teens. In the past we have had great times of spiritual refreshment and recreation at such places as Camp Kanestake in Spruce Creek, PA; and Lake Champion in Port Jervis, NY, Camp Haluwasa in Hammonton, NJ and during our High School Ski trips to Charlemont, MA. We have also been to “Acquire The Fire” in Baltimore, MD & Philly; Camp Conquest in Denver, PA; Whitetail Hunting Lodge in Tyrone, PA; America’s Keswick in Whiting, NJ; A Closer Walk at Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, NJ; Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ; Camp Blue Diamond in Alexandria, PA.
Our teens are encouraged get involved with service projects. These have in the past included: clothing collection for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission, food drives for Ocean County food banks, regular trips to encourage residents of The Colony of Mercy at America’s Keswick, staffing of Vacation Bible School held each summer at ECC, providing childcare. Of course all teens are encouraged to utilize their gifts and talents to glorify our Lord and Savior. All ministry areas of the Emmanuel Community Church are available to our teens and they are encouraged to be involved whenever possible.
|Mission trips are a regular part of what we do and who we are. We have taken the gospel to Lima, Peru, NY, NY, Baildon England, Philly, Exuma, Bahamas, and Lynchburg VA. We invite you to come and experience the difference Christ has made in the lives of many in our group and to discover the plan He has for your life.
Any teen wishing to have an active role in what happens in youth group and the activities that are planned is invited to come at 6 pm for a teen leaders meeting held each week before youth group.
There is no higher calling than to Worship the Lord of the Universe. It is what we were created to do. It is how we, as humans, connect with our Creator and give him back all Honor that is due to Him.What a privilege it is to be able to facilitate part of that worship for people. We believe that worship is one of the primary responsibilities of a believer in Christ. Therefore we treat God’s requirement to worship Him as a priority in our lives and lifestyles.
Sound & Technical Ministry
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rom. 10; 17
Emmanuel Sound and Technical Ministry exists to provide a pleasing and sound environment that allows messages and music to be heard clearly during our services.
A great message that cannot be heard will not benefit the intended listeners. This is why we believe we are a vital part of Emmanuel as a church fulfilling her purpose. All Sound and Technical Ministry members work very hard behind the scene to ensure every service is pleasant to the ears of our listeners. We believe that technology is an incredible means to help communicate the message of faith, hope and freedom. We are volunteers with willing hands and servant hearts and are happy to be instruments in God’s hand.
The enhancement committee is comprised of church members elected on a rotating basis. Our purpose is to plan for and implement the decoration of the church. To achieve its purpose, the committee creates or purchases floral arrangements as needed for the sanctuary and other rooms of the church. We change arrangements, wreaths, and other decorative items by seasons and for special occasions. The committee works with the pastor in making purchases for the programs of the church, such as small gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc. The committee uses banners to brighten high, dark walls or commemorate an event, scriptural passage or times of the church calendar. The committee gives church members opportunities to participate in the decoration of the church; members are invited to purchase Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies in memory or in honor of loved ones. Are you willing to help? We need volunteers for floral arranging and sewing (for letters to be put on new banners or to help make or repair banners). Contact an enhancement committee member today.
Committee members are Sharon Tilton, Liz Friedman, Melanie Greenhall and Tami Martin.
